Cindy Rose
Cindy A. Rose began writing for the Tentacle in 2011 trying to raise awareness over things happening within Frederick County Public Schools. She began keeping a close watch on FCPS when she learned there were not enough air conditioned buses for special needs children during the hot Maryland summers. The Tentacle offered her a place to share her concerns with her community when local newspapers didn’t always. Cindy had the opportunity to buy the Tentacle from creator/owner John W. Ashbury in 2019, so she did. She believed then, as she believes now, our communities, friends and neighbors have important things to say that needs to be shared with those living around them. Large corporate news companies don’t always share in those passions and concerns. The Tentacle is a local news, commentary and community website run by citizens, for citizens. Its success depends on your participation.

Frederick County Conservative Club Wants to End the “Janny State”

Frederick County finally has a conservative group willing to take a stand for the values and freedoms cherished by Republicans and conservatives. That includes conservative Democrats who are appalled by the current woke culture that has pervaded county government, including Frederick County Public Schools.

French Onion Chicken

Here’s a new twist on French Onion Soup for all you “meat” eaters. This was my first time trying it and I thought it paired well with fresh cooked Jasmine rice. The caramelized onions is what makes this dish pop, so don’t try and rush through that part. If you don’t like onion, this recipe isn’t for you.

Steak Diane On The Cheap

Nothing makes a good cut of meat taste better than a fabulous sauce or gravy. Let’s face it, under the current economy not all of us can afford a great cut of beef. Have no fear. This recipe will make an ordinary hamburger deliciously decadent!

Lois Jarman Unseated From the Board of Education

National election aside, Frederick County voters have a reason to rejoice this morning. Lois Jarman (D) has been retired from the Board of Education by a resounding loss. Ms. Jarman was appointed to her seat after dropping out of her race for the Board of Education in 2016 and losing her state delegate race in 2018.

Frederick’s Last Road Rally Before Election Day

The Frederick County Conservative Club has participated in two Trump road rallies. I think both must be considered a success. Although this last one, due to the nature of its length hit a few snags along the way, it was by most measures a success.
