People woke up Friday morning to the news that President Donald J. Trump and his wife Melania had tested positive for COVID-19. Although it wasn’t part of the original plan, the Trump 2020 rally organized by Michelle Deanovich had a few vehicles displaying “Get Well” wishes for the President.
There was talk of heading down to Walter Reed after the rally to join the growing group gathering in front of the hospital. If it happened, I’m unaware.
For full discloser, my husband, son, daughter, son-in-law, their three children, my son-in-law’s sister and her daughter were all participants in the rally. Our vehicles were decked out in Trump, American and Gadsden flags.
As other participants have mentioned, we were there to show support for our President who has been under attack non-stop since he walked down the elevator to announce his candidacy in January of 2016.
We joined the rally goers in Middletown where we mingled, hugged, laughed, and shared our favorite Trump stories. Few wore masks because we are believers in freedom of choice. We understand and embrace that life is risky and choose for ourselves accordingly.
I did not witness one rally attendee be disrespectful to non-attendees who were making their way through the park. I did, however, witness several Trump haters give us the finger for no other reason than existing on this Earth as his supporters.
There were 100 vehicles with no less than two people per vehicle. Many, like my daughter’s had over five to seven passengers. My estimate is there were in all likelihood, over 250 people participating. This doesn’t include the honking and high fiving we received along the way.
The support far outweighed the liberal/socialist middle finger salute.
If there are still soft Republican’s out there saying we need to get along and co-exist – STOP! Unless and until the leaders of the Democrat party start calling their looting, rioting mob of spoiled children to the carpet, it isn’t possible. Trump supporters are finished with appeasement.
NEWSFLASH – Many Trump supporters are “Democrats”.
Ronald Regan pointed out in his 1964 speech “A Time for Choosing”, “when the time comes to deliver the final ultimatum, our surrender will be voluntary, because by that time we will have been weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically.” Here we are, at the crossroads of that “voluntary” surrender. The enemy is different, the choosing is the same.
We’ve been weakened by liberals, progressives, and conservatives. The Democrat Party has become extinct and taken over by Marxists. The Republican Party has faded into the party of surrender.
Trump alone stands as the leader of average Americans. He is the face of the blue collar, traditional American voter. Trump represents everything good and just in America. He is perfectly imperfect – like all of us.
We are neither Democrats nor Republicans. We are Americans.
That is why Trump is relentlessly attacked by both parties. He’s robbing them of their power. Without us, they do not survive, and they know it.
Those who support Trump reject entirely the Democrat march to identity driven America and the Republican march toward big government control of everything. We march toward unity, not division.
Trump is doing what everyone else keeps promising to do but never does. Trump has proven through his actions we’ve been played for fools for decades. The old guard lacks the will to serve “the people”. Their interests are in serving themselves.
Trump supporters are an amalgam and reconstitution of what was discarded, rejected, disrespected, and forgotten by the Democrat and Republican parties. We are the working-class Americans who believe without reservation that America was founded on decency, hard work, individuality, and respect of those we disagree with. That is what it means to “Make America Great Again.”
We want our traditions back, our respect for individuality back and our God back. We want to move about our towns unmolested because of who or what we believe.
#WalkAway has proven decent people are tired of the brutality of the left. The exodus from the Republican party has shown decent people are tired of surrendering to the brutality.
We’ve had our fill of Party Bosses ginning up the rhetoric and growing the divide. We are rejecting the ruling class and leaving them behind like they left us.
