As a reminder, Frederick polling places will have spaces set aside for voters who cannot wear a face mask. During early voting Urbana will have an outside area set up for voters who can’t wear masks. The other locations have inside space set aside. Per Board of Elections Director Stuart Harvey once the voter is checked in they vote by themselves away from all other voters at a separate voting booth, then deposit the ballot at the scanner.

This same process applies for November 3 election day voting. Both Urbana Regional Library and Brunswick Middle will have outside space set aside, all other locations will have inside space set aside.

You may have heard on the news about voters having their temperatures taken before voting and being turned away. Mr. Harvey said we will not be doing temperature checks here in Frederick and hopes if you are feeling ill you don’t show up in person. If you are feeling ill you may send someone to the Board of Elections, 340A Montevue Lane and request an “agent form”. Your agent can then return the form to you, you complete it, and the agent goes to the Board of Elections to get your ballot and bring it to you.

You can also email the Board of Elections and request an agent form in advance – ElectionsBoard@frederickcountymd.gov. The agent then takes the completed form to the Board of Elections and they will issue them a ballot. The ballot must be returned before 8:00 p.m. on November 3rd to the Election Board by the agent; placed in a ballot drop box by 8:00 p.m.; or mailed with the postmark of Nov. 3.  The Board of Elections recommends you have the post office hand stamp your ballot with the date – mailed ballots must have a November 3, 2020 postmark. If you have questions email the Board of Elections.
