Super Bowl 2020 Predictions

6:30 PM on Fox: San Francisco 49ers Vs. Kansas City Chiefs- Chiefs win 27-20

In a close battle I favor the AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs over the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers.  Even though Raheem Mostert is coming off a record day of running over the Packer defense for a career high 220 yards and 4 touchdowns, the Chiefs stout run defense will contain him and shut him down.

Much like they did Derrick Henry of the Titans who they held to 69 yards rushing and only one touchdown after Henry rushed for 211 yards against New England, 182 against Houston and 195 against the Ravens in the prior playoff games which were Titan victories.

That said I believe 49ers Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will keep the 49ers in the game until the 4th quarter when Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs star quarterback will lead the Chiefs to victory with a game-winning touchdown pass to Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce late in the game.

This will be the Chiefs first Super Bowl victory since 1969-1970 NFL Season when they defeated the “Purple People Eaters” defense of the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 23-7.  Legendary quarterback Len Dawson captured the Most Valuable Player award in Super Bowl IV.

MVP Prediction: Patrick Mahomes will have a career day at quarterback for Kansas City with over 300 yards passing and 3 touchdowns joining Len Dawson as the 2nd Chiefs quarterback to win the MVP in the Super Bowl.
