Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Nick has retired after teaching middle school mathematics for 30 years in Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) and eight years at two independent schools. At present, he's a Math and Enrichment Consultant for FCPS. He’s a University of Dayton graduate, and moved to Frederick County with his wife, Marianne shortly thereafter. He enjoys motorcycle touring, and rides with friends known as "The Between-the-Sheetz Gang." In 2006, Nick was appointed by Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr., to the Board of Trustees of Frederick Community College, having served as cChairman for two years. His term there expires in 2016.
