Is Paris Burning?
I really don't give a whit whether all of France is in flames, truth be
told, but I just thought that was a great headline! Of course, it speaks of
a time when the French really were under an occupying army and depredations

The Hypocrisy of the Democrats
It never ceases to amaze me when I read about the Democratic Party
sometimes. I call your attention to the latest vile attacks on Maryland's
Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, from members of not only his own party, but his own

War Photos - Then and Now
There is a bit of a brouhaha going on in the media here of late (Okay, okay, when isn't there a brouhaha?). The latest thing to get all sorts of kinder and gentler folk in an uproar is the apparent trading, by rifle toters in the war zone, of "gruesome, gory" battlefield photographs, to a web site in exchange for, well, to put it bluntly, porno pictures.

Writers Block and the State of the County
I'm suffering a major case of writers block these days. Just can't seem to
get the juices flowing. Wish I could come up with something; I've tried, but
nothing seems to 'sing;' especially locally.

Potpourri and Miscellany
There are lots of little tidbits to write about this time. None, mind you, long enough for an entire commentary, but enough to get one's blood rising, if we think about it.

It's All Over but the Shoutin' Party
Well, it seems as though the eminent, responsible, and never wrong party has finally found something they can win at. What is that, you might ask? Why, losing, of course. They've been doing it for so long, they've decided to make it a national pastime for the rest of us.

Our Very Own Conspiracy Gaggle
A few weeks back my family and I were wandering around the "big" library in Frederick. While there, I always check the little table out front to see what local happenings are upcoming in our fair county. Among the bus schedules and other paraphernalia, I discovered that we have, here in Frederick, our very own wacky left-wing conspiracy groups.

Where Have All The Real Reporters Gone?
The recent dustup over the media (OK, stop! I mean, the most recent dustup involving Newsweek.) once again failing to report the facts, as opposed to what they want the facts to be, tells me that the leftmedia gets it wrong, and instead puts a progressive "spin" on what the "journalists" think the news should be.

Filibusters, Mr. Bolton and the Democrats in Maryland
I thought this week instead of writing several columns, I'd condense my various thoughts into one. Here of late, much attention has been paid in the media, both local and national, about various and sundry things that the Democrats, also known as "The party that wants to overturn elections by any means available," are trying to keep our country safe from Democracy.

No More Red Ink
While perusing the paper a few days ago, I noted that touchy feely types with graying ponytails and fading "Kerry" stickers are now up in arms over yet another thing that makes our kids "feel bad." Yes, dear reader, it seems that red ink is causing your school age child undue stress and possible long term damage.

Spring Has Sprung
Well, spring has sprung, or so the weather reporters tell me on the back pages of The Frederick News Post. Now, before you get the giggles, I do peruse the weather in the paper, and even read the almanac from time to time.

Mr. Cady Takes Care of Business
I read with delight, and then laughter, the hat story in the Frederick newspaper the other day. For those who don't subscribe, it seems that the
county parks department hired an individual who isn't exactly smarts on a stick. This fellow appeared before the county commissioners, I suppose, to be introduced.
March 1, 2005
I love reading the opposing viewpoints of various and sundry Democrats. Really, I do. Whenever I need to get a laugh, or find out about the latest wacky conspiracy theory, I just plop down at the ole computer and surf on over to a couple of websites. Even this one.

Strong on Defense?
I read a bit the other day in the Frederick paper that left me scratching my head. No, it's not the latest episode betwixt the Mayoress of Frederick and whomever is on the enemies list this week. Nor was it a letter to the editor from one of the far left wackos in Takoma Park. No, this was on the national scene.

Taxation with Too Much Representation
I've been reading with dismay the typical antics of Maryland Democrats in
the past few weeks. I say typical because I'm not the least bit surprised at
any of it.

Where's The Outrage?
It was nice to see Dr. Condoleezza Rice finally take her post at the helm of
the State Department last week. But, I noticed something missing in most of
the brouhaha being bandied about by the party of the left. Did anyone else
catch it, or am I just going off the deep end, here?

Well, the move to the new house continues apace. Or, as fast as it can go,
with all the permitting, weather issues, money issues, and whatnot. And,
naturally, it's the time of year when the entire family is sick from one
form of croup, catarrh, flu, or other unknown disease brought home from

Out With the Old, In With the New
Well, the New Year is upon us. It always seems to jump up and grab me, unawares. "Holy Cow, it's a New Year? Where did the old one go?" It's much the same this year.

The release recently by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) of a report smacking Uncle Sam upside the head caused no end of hand wringing from the sob sisters on the left and assorted Frenchmen. It seems the folks in the ICRC are none too pleased with the way America is treating the terrorist scum we have locked up in Guantanimo Bay.

I Remember Christmases Past and..
I really don't have a 'most memorable' Christmas, but rather, a bunch of small memories that I draw on during the Christmas season.

Some on The Couch Due To PEST
I read recently in Opinion Journal (the Wall Street Journal's Daily email
opinion piece) a bit that had me laughing so hard I could barely breathe. It
seems that Kerry supporters down in Florida have been in therapy since the

Donít Apologize for Being Right
Lately I've been hearing all sorts of bleating from the left. Yes, bleating. "We are coming back stronger than ever;" "the Republicans are all bullies;" "the sky is falling now that the Republicans are controlling everything." Blah! Blah! Blah!

Newsflash! Mainstream Media...Ain't
Shocked, shocked, I am in seeing that all these big name reporters seeping out of the closet now that the election is ended. No, they aren't gay, folks. Calm down.

On Giving Thanks
Once again Thanksgiving is upon us. And, once again, we know this because
the center sections of the newspapers are filled with multitudinous amounts
of ads screaming about the onset of the 'holiday season.

Earth Still Rotating, Angryleft Blames Bush
In perusing the various and sundry newspapers recently, no one thing in particular jumped out at me as something earth shattering to write about.
The world continues spinning on its axis, despite protestations from the angryleft (which I've now decided is one word) that the Republicans are leading us all down the road to death and destruction.

Whatís A Soldier To Do?
In the upright, closed off hothouses of the angryleft (which I have created as a single word), there is an uproar coming. It seems that the U.S. Marine Corps was caught killing an enemy terrorist!

Feelings Ė and Other Democratic Tools
Once again, the 'tolerant left' has proved just how tolerant they really are. The standard party organs are filled with navel gazing articles about a.) "How we lost the election;" and b.) How stupid the people are who voted for President Bush.
